Hello, it's a pleasure to meet you. My students call me Maestra Rivera. I am the owner and director of Manzanita. I have been teaching for over 23 years. 10 years in Mexico and 13 years in the United States. I studied to be a teacher with my minor in special needs. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher since I was a young girl, I took care of my brothers and sisters. When I was 15 years old, my friend and I opened a children's Bible school in Mexico and in a few months more than 200 children came to my Bible school. I loved it and that's when I discovered my passion for teaching. When my family and I moved to the United States, I worked in children's ministry for 7 years at church with my husband. I then worked with the Spanish Immersion Program in Michigan and brought it to South Bend, Indiana. I worked in a private Christian School. I saw that there was a need that not everyone could afford the price or send their child part time. That's when my own full-time Spanish Immersion Program opened. I am a wife, mother, grandmother, and my husband and I are associate pastors at our church, CLC South Bend. When they ask me why I love working with children, I light up, they are the best! They are pure joy and love. I love teaching and watching their development and growth. The best thing about being a teacher is knowing that you plant a seed of knowledge in each of your students and prepare them for school.
My promise to you is that your child will learn Spanish, they will develop educationally. and connect with other cultures.
